With the Chios in London

Next stop: London. After 14 1/2 hours from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi, 7 3/4 hours on to London was nothing :) Big thank you to Chris for picking us up from Heathrow, and an even bigger thank you to him, Emilynn, Ashley and Caitlin for their wonderful hospitality.

The girls had a lot of fun together.

The Big Trip - first up, Dubai!

Bubs' 40th was celebrated with a month-long epic (well, epic by our standards anyway, as opposed to the lucky people who travel for a year) holiday. The flight from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi wasn't exactly eagerly anticipated, as we couldn't be sure how KRW would react/behave for 14 1/2 long hours. Fortunately she was wonderful, probably due to having a TV at her disposal pretty much the whole time. So we got to Abu Dhabi in one piece and then took the Etihad coach to Dubai.

At the Burjuman Mall.
XVA Cafe in Bastakiya.
Dubai Creek.
Lunch beside Dubai Creek.
Just before the Dubai Fountain shows.

Our little dancer!

This footage is a few months old, but still good fun. How cute is she :) KRW is actually starting dance classes next weekend. If she can overcome her initial inhibitions, that is! She's often resistant to new things or people, but once she gets going, it's hard to stop her...

Kyla's 3rd Birthday

Thought I'd better post some pictures before we get to her 4th Birthday! The party was held at Babycino's Cafe in South Yarra. Kyla had requested a chocolate and strawberry cake, which Babes then proceeded to skilfully decorate in the Dora theme.

KRW up close

A couple of shots of the lovely little girl. Note the wound on her lower lip, she tripped and fell in childcare and had a close encounter with a twig. As you can see, she wasn't too traumatised by the incident...

A round of applause for the dancer!

As the pictures show, KRW luuurves dancing. (Didn't get that from her dad, that's for sure.) We're planning to enrol her for dancing classes on a Saturday morning, but it's halfway through the term now and we're about to go on a month-long holiday. Patience, young lady!

Queenscliff

A beautiful day in a beautiful town doesn't mean Kyla has to be cooperative...

Lunch at Sunnybrae

Foodies rave about this restaurant that's all the way out in Birregurra (about an hour's drive from Geelong). And since we were already in the Bellarine Peninsula for the weekend, we thought we'd give it a shot. Bookings were made almost two months in advance, as they only open for meals on weekends and the place fills up quickly. The foodies were right, lunch was really good but there's no photographic evidence unfortunately! It's all about local produce, including vegetables from their own garden. Google it for a review lah :) As for Kyla, her lingering memory of Sunnybrae is the resident canine that kept wanting to jump on her...
